Reminder!!!!
Assalamulaikum...
today i just want to remind all of us to post our entry because Pn.badariah had told us that she goes to calculate the total of our entry by next wednesday and also the entry average per month. So, please take notes on this information. I also want to remind my own group members to do your responsibility to post your entry. I can see that few of us did not post entry based on what we had agreed before. I don't want to condemned anybody because this is group works. So after this, please cover back those entry that u owe to this blog..

As the beginning...
Assalamualaikum…
Hello guys.. belive or not we already finished our chapter 10 last week and tomorrow we will proceed with the last chapter which is chapter 11 ( Maintaining the System ). Well as the beginning let us see first what this chapter means to us..maybe it can help us to understand better about this chapter.
They are:-
•The more a system is linked to the real world, the more likely it will change and the more difficult it will be to maintain
•Maintainers have many jobs in addition to software developers
•Measuring maintainability is difficult
•Impact analysis builds and tracks links among the requirements, design, code, and test cases
•Software rejuvenation involves redocumenting, restructuring, reverse engineering, and reengineering.

Assalamualaikum and hello everyone.. Hope u r in a good condition..
Today is 20 September 2007 and today is day - 8 for this fasting month.
For today class, Puan Badariah gave an explaination about TYPE OF ACCEPTANCE TESTS which is Pilot Test, Parallel Test and Benchmark Test. Pilot Test is divided into two that is Alpha Test and Beta Test. Alpha Test is more to the developer side and Beta Test is more to the customer side.
At the end of the class, we're having a quiz about testing that outcome of the system. We've done it in a pair. Puan Badariah said that she wanted to discuss the answer next week. So to all peeps, dont forget to attend next week class.
Stay tune for more info from my group members.

Today is 13August2007 and is the first day we're fasting.
For today class, we learnt how to find a path using formula. It is in Chapter 8. Puan Badariah remind us to bring our text book because majority for today class didn't bring the text book. Besides, to find the path, we need to refer to the text book. About the path, Puan Badariah told us there is many way to find it and we can come with variety of way path.
I hope that we will be strong enough to get through many classes for a day and with our hot weather.

Testing the Programs
Today we learnt Chapter 8 which is about Testing the Programs. They are few of objectives which are:
+ Types of Faults and How to Classify Them
+ The Purpose of Testing
+ Unit Testing
+ Integration Testing Strategies
+ Test Planning
+ When to Stop Testing
Actually we need to know that it is important to understand the difference between faults and failures. Besides, the goal of testing is to find faults, not to prove correctness.

interview oh interview
hi..
Nurul n I went to interview Pn Badariah early in the morning. We asked questions that we prepared before, which is related to the portal that we gonna develop after this. Unfortunately, we didn’t manage to get as what we expect. There was something wrong somewhere and Pn Badariah said, we didn’t have enough information to develop the portal.
After class, we all met Pn Badariah personally and asked her what we need to do in order to fulfill the requirement of the portal. Pn Badariah advised us on how to ask the right questions for the interview and after that we decided to set up an interview with Pn Badariah for the second time so that we will get complete informations to develop the portal.
So, we made an appointment with Pn Badariah once again, and we decided that Ainal is the right person who is going to interview her.

Requirements Development
SRS are typically developed during the first stages of
"Requirements Development", which is the initial product
development phase in which information is gathered about what
requirements are needed and not. This information gathering
stage can include questionnaires, surveys, interviews, and perhaps
a return-on-investment (ROI) analysis or needs analysis of the customer
or client's current business environment. The actual specification,
then, is written after the requirements have been gathered and analyzed.

Assalamualaikum and hello everyone... (",)
For the class on 16/08/2007, Puan Badariah remind us about dressing and she gave us 'black and white' Dress Code for student. Puan Badariah promised to us that she want to give us the Dress Code with color printed later on.
Puan Badariah gave us exercise about Use-Case Diagram. We've done it together gather in the class. There is two questions and we did the first question which is about Jenny Legal Investigator Services. Puan Badariah remind us to use VERB only when it comes to Use-Case Diagram.
At the end of the class, Puan Badariah want us to find any book about statechart and she want us to do the second question of the exercise.

Software Requirements Specification (SRS)?
An SRS is basically an organization's understanding
of a customer or potential client's system
requirements and dependencies at a particular point in
time prior to any actual design or development
work. It's a two-way insurance policy that assures that both
the client and the organization understand the other's
requirements from that perspective at a given point in
time.
The SRS document itself states in precise and explicit
language those functions and capabilities a software system
must provide, as well as states any required constraints by
which the system must abide. The SRS also functions as a
blueprint for completing a project with as little cost growth
as possible. The SRS is often referred to as the "parent"
document because all subsequent project management documents,
such as design specifications, statements of work, software
architecture specifications, testing and validation plans, and
documentation plans, are related to it.
It's important to note that an SRS contains functional and
nonfunctional requirements only, it doesn't offer design
suggestions, possible solutions to technology or business
issues, or any other information other than what the
development team understands the customer's system requirements
to be.

today..
hi..
In the beginning of the class, there was a problem with the projector and we need to call a technician to fix the problem. While waiting for the projector to be fixed, we did exercise on use-case diagram and state chart transition diagram.
After that, we finished chapter 4 today and it was so fast. We skipped certain slides and we only focus on important slides.

What Kind of Information Should an SRS Include?
Several standards organizations (including the IEEE) have identified nine topics
that must be addressed when designing and writing an SRS:
1. Interfaces
2. Functional Capabilities
3. Performance Levels
4. Data Structures/Elements
5. Safety
6. Reliability
7. Security/Privacy
8. Quality
9. Constraints and Limitations

Our Portal Progress (part 1)
Assalamualaikum
About our portal, I have looking for software to make it. One of the software is Joomla. It has verry good setting but its quite hard to used it. Maybe I should test it during my holliday. There are many more software that can be used to creat our portal. For more info you can visit its main site; http://www.joomla.org .If we using it, we must find some free hosting to upload our portal. This will be a good experience for our group. I will ask Lukman for his approval. That all for my reports.

requirement definition
Hello again..
For this time I just want to share about one of the kinds of requirements document. It is the requirement definition. It is a complete listing of everything the customer wants to achieve. This document express requirement by describing the entities in the environment in which the proposed system will be installed and by describing the desired constraint on, monitoring of, or transformation of those entity

SRS???
hi guys.. :)
As what Luqman mentioned in previous post, today we learnt about Software Requirement Specifications (SRS). Actually the objectives of this chapter are to elicitate requirements from the customers, modeling requirements, reviewing requirements to ensure their quality and documenting requirements for use by the design and test teams.
Besides, we also learnt about Use Case and the different between Data Flow Diagram (DFD). The different is DFD is more details compared to Use Case. I guess we will learn more about Chapter 4 in the next class. So, be prepared guys!
Pn. Badariah reminds us that we need to upload the completed SRS in our Blog latest Sept 9, 2007. As usual, late submission will be penalized.
Lastly, good luck to all my friends who gonna have exam this week.
Al-fatihah to Allahyarham Fadhil Ahmad..

Go Go Go ...
Assalamu'alaikum wbt and helo evrybody ..
Tomorrow we will continue lecture in chapter 4. This chapter is very important with respect to our project because it cantains the SRS.
So, it is very helpful to have everybody understand the concept well before we can run our project. It will become a burden if we drag it until the last minute because I hope we can impress Pn. Badariah once again by submit the SRS ASAP.
Luqman - Nurul, Ridhwan and Afiq, where's your post?

Bad day..
Assalamualaikum..
The first 1 hour in the class, we learnt about chapter 3 and right after that Pn Badariah has viewed WBS from each group. By the way, Pn Badariah was not satisfied with WBS from each group.
Actually we are supposed to present our WBS, unfortunately we did not upload the WBS in our blog yet. So, we were penalized and Pn Badariah is going to deduct 1% of our marks. That was a mistake which should not happen. Never mind, we will take it as a lesson and we will try to work harder in future.

Presentation
Assalamu'alaikum wbt and hai everybody ...
As you all know that we choosed the Waterfall model for our project. This model seems easy to understand, but actually it is a bit difficult to implement because a lot of research, study and homework must be done before it can be executed.
However, I think this will improve our understanding in this subject. To all c2d's member, especially the presenter, don't forget we have the WBS presentation tomorrow. I wish you luck and all the best ...
Luqman - Do your work with full spirit

However, I think this will improve our understanding in this subject. To all c2d's member, especially the presenter, don't forget we have the WBS presentation tomorrow. I wish you luck and all the best ...

Smile and Smile... :D
Assalamualaikum and Hello everyone… (“,)
Today is 2nd August 2007 and now we are in the month of National Day. For today, we had 1 hour class with Puan Badariah and she has changed our class from BW-01-L06 to BW-01-L05 until the end of the semester, but she doesn’t state because of what.
We learnt about new topic which is Chapter 3 – Planning and Managing the Project.
Puan Badariah explained again about Work Breakdown Structure or more synonyms with name WBS.
After half an hour, Puan Badariah asks us to sit in group and come out with our Projects Phase, Steps and Activities. Puan Badariah gave us 15 minutes to discuss about it. But seems all the student doesn’t have enough time to discuss, Puan Badariah at last ask us to present it next week.
In addition, Puan Badariah gave the guideline how to come out with a good WBS and she explained the steps to get there.
That’s all for today activities.
Stay tuned for more information about Software Engineering course from my friends.
n u r u l ~~ Wait until it is night before saying that it has been a fine day.

Juz some addition...
Bonjour…
Last 2 days we had our presentation, today we rest for a while then tomorrow we gonna have SE class again…well I think I just want to add some more information about our group because during the presentation Mr.Luqman forgot to tell us a few things..
These are some of the things that we didn’t said last day:-
Everyone of us responsible to post entry once a week so that all of us will take part on this blog.
This means we will have at least 6 entry per week.
We choose blue as our main colour is actually because when we entered at Pn.Badariah’s page, we see that she also use blue as her main colour, so we thought that she loves blue..but unfortunately Pn.Badariah’s page is actually green in colour. I don’t know how this can happen. Maybe technical error huhuhu…
That’s all…see you again

Presentation Day..
Assalamualaikum..
We had a presentation day and our group was the first group to present today. Out of 11 groups, we were chosen by a draw. As the first group to present, of course our group leader and also the presenter, Luqman was a bit nervous in the beginning of the presentation. By the way, Ridhwan was helping Luqman to view the blog.
Basically, Luqman explained why we choose c2dteam as our grop’s name and why blue template was chosen as our background and about the other information in our blog such as the Lecture’s Info, Calendar, Our Links, Shout Box and Blog Archive. In addition, Ridhwan explained about the new banner and why we use the banner.
At the end of the presentation, Puan Badariah asked why we choose blogspot.com. As a smart presenter, Luqman managed to answer the question by saying that among all of the group members, we are more familiar with blogspot and blogspot is so famous and easy to use. At the same time, students were allowed to ask questions during the presentation but nobody asks us about our blog. So, I guess our blog is superb enough hehe..
Actually, every group was given 10 minutes to present and for me all groups present well today and I really enjoy all the presentation by other groups. What can I say is, all of us did a very good job today. So, congratulations and keep it up guys!

The Classic
Assalamu'alaikum wbt and hello everybody ...
For the upcoming project, our group picked the "Classic" Waterfall model in order to accomplished the project. There were groups that also choose this kind of model too, but they combined in with other model such as waterfall combined with prototype.
But for our group, we choose the "Classic" Waterfall model because some of us had the experience using this model and we understand this model better than other models. We choose to "understand the requirements before start the project" rather than "try and error".
Luqman - Tomorrow is the presentation day.

Wonderful week
Assalamualaikum and hello everyone…
For today class, first of all Puan Badariah remind us about our blog presentation nextweek and told us to be prepare enough and pick one good presenter to represent each group. After that, we learn about Spiral Model and Agile Methods which is still in Chapter 2 like last week. Puan Badariah asked question to us about what “risk” means.
Next, Puan Badariah asks us to sit in our group and discuss about what Model to be use in our project later on. After 10 minutes discussion, we all decided to pick Waterfall Model for our group project. In addition, each group got to do a simple presentation about why we choose that Model and gladly, Puan Badariah praised our group for a good reasons outcome.
Class dismisses.
Third Meeting (“,)
Date and Time : 26 July 2007 , 12.00pm – 1.00pm
Venue : BW-4-L15
We had our third meeting at the computers lab and we’ve done some changes to our blog such as the colours, templates, songs and banners. Our new banner was really beautiful and has its own motive to be deliver. We also put UNITEN’s song in our blog.
Last but not least, we also captured our group photos at ground floor infront of the empty receptionist counter. That photo will be uploaded to our blog soon.
That’s all for today activities. There will be lot and lot post from my friends =D

Study and study and study!
Aloha..
Firstly, today’s class starts as usual and as what we guess, we learnt about Software Development Process Models. Well, today we had covered about Waterfall Model, V Model, Prototyping Model, Operational Specification Model, Transformational Model and Increments and Iterations.
So far, we got the ideas on how to relate the process models in the next coming project. Actually, today’s class was a bit boring because everyone doesn’t really response to what Puan Badariah asked during the class.
Lastly, at the end of the class, we were asked to prepare for the next class. So, let’s start to study about Spiral Model and Agile Methods. Good Luck guys! :)

FAQs about Software Engineering
Here, i would like to share some info about software engineering....
- Roughly 60% of costs are development costs, 40% are testing costs. For custom software, evolution costs often exceed development costs.
- Cost vary depending on the type of system being developed and requirements of the system attributes such as performance and system reliability.
- Distribution of cost depends on the development model that is used.

Banners in progress
Assalamualaikum,
Just as the title says...i'm the one in charge in developing our blog banner . After the Friday Prayers, Iam was driving through Uniten to find the best picture for it. Is not an easy job to be a
photographer and is hard to get the best angle. Well , I decided to make Coit building as the thems for our blog. Well thats all from me, i guess cause today is a busy day and i still have to edit the banner with my photoshop. Wasslam~

Welcome to our blog
Assalamualaikum and hye …
First and foremost, today is our fourth class with Puan Badariah. Same like the other three classes before this, Puan Badariah remind us not to wear jeans in her class and the feature of proper attire for students.
Puan Badariah also viewed the first three blogs that already submitted to her and of course our group is the first group in her list. Six of us were very glad and happy. Yeay yeay horay!! =D She also said that our group began with good performance so far. About the blog project, Puan Badariah reminds us to limit our receive comments from an anonymous to prevent any nasty comments. After Puan Badariah viewed all three blogs, she mentioned again how beneficial we are if we starts any work earlier. And the most important is, she stated that she hate ORANGE very-very much!!!
We learn about Chapter 2 (Modelling the Process and Life Cycle) today. Some of the content is what we should do if there is no suitable web to park our blog and also the requirement for process and constraints. When the class almost finish, Puan Badariah asked questions to us, definitely to help us in the subject.
Second Meeting (“,)
Date and Time : 19 July 2007 , 12.30pm – 1.15pm
Venue : COIT Level 1
We had our second meeting and the first thing we discussed if there is any problem in our blog. Our leader Luqmanulhakim asks if we need demonstration to use blog because some of us including me myself are fewer experts in using blog. But we decided to stay there and discuss about our blog interface. Puan Badariah told us before to reduce the size of our logos and we choose Ridhwan to incharge in that. Our leader gave more explanation about post, delete, and edit entries.
In addition, we all plan to create new account of gmail for personal profile in our blog later on. And peripheral things we discussed is about planning to change our blog layout and planning to capture our group photos to be uploaded in the blog. We also have been asked to be active in sending comments to the blog to indicate that our blog is interactive and friendly.
Last but not least, we also decided to appoint a meeting whenever there is a problem only and for today meetings we’re not having enough group members because Afiq’s got matter to deal with.
That’s all for today… There will be a lot of post from others… =D

Greatest blog
Assalamualaikum and good evening to everyone…
Well actually there is nothing I can state here because our group does not have any activity today…but quite early in this morning our group leader Mr.Luqman has sent a sms to tell us that he had changed a little bit about our blog. Anyway don’t worry because everything still in a good condition.
Now our group quite busy in discussing to set a new interface but it does not be decided yet on how the new interface will looks like. Mr.Luqman very serious in conducting this project. So far, we don’t have any critical problem because everyone of our group members give a very good tolerate including our new family member’s Mr.Afiq. Personally, I can say that I’m so lucky to be in this group.
Tomorrow our group will have a meeting to discuss about our project and I belive that our secretary had reminded all of our group members about the meeting. So, to all c2d team members, don’t forget to attempt the meeting and as our group leader remind us to bring along camera to those who have it.
That’s all for today. Hope that our blog will be more success and become the greatest blog in the future..hehehe

Great day!
Assalamualaikum and hello everybody..
First and foremost, today we have class with Puan Badariah but before the class start we went to the lab to view our blog and we decided to update our blog with some extraordinary changes from time to time in order to make it more interactive, fun and interesting to visit.
Today’s class was very great because we were given bonus mark by Puan Badariah because we were the first group who set up the blog. What a surprise! Thanks to Puan Badariah. After this we will work very hard and we will try to put more efforts to gain more bonus marks. :)
At the beginning of the class, our beloved lecturer, Puan Badariah reminds us once again not to wear jeans in class because there were still some students who disobey this rule. Actually, today we have learnt about “What is software engineering” which covered the progress of software from time to time and how we can approach a system and how to know what is a good and quality software. During the class, we were asked lots of questions by our lecturer to make sure we really understand this chapter. Furthermore, we were given a chance to ask questions if we do not understand some part of this chapter. So, at the end of this class, we know how to analyze a problem and how to synthesize a good solution for a problem. Besides, we also understand how to use fundamental software engineering concepts.
In addition, before the class ends, Puan Badariah advised us to find past year’s exam papers and try to do questions which are related to Chapter 1. Moreover, this is a great way to score an “A” for this subject. So we will try to find all those past year’s exam papers and try to do the questions.
Last but not least, after class we met Puan Badariah personally and asked her opinion about our group’s blog project. Finally, we found out that we can improve our blog and impress Puan Badariah by updating our blog regularly. As the result, we will update our blog regularly as what we are supposed to do to come out with fantastic blog!
